Challenge

With only having a weeks notice to take on this new client, the largest challenge on this service and maintenance contract was how to best manage an extensive range of kitchen equipment assets over 70 centres. Hollywood Bowl had very little kitchen equipment data or history for any of the sites so there was no base point to work from when the contract was taken on.

Solution

A full asset audit across the whole group was carried out in 3 weeks, with all items input into the asset management system. Hollywood Bowl was one of the first customers to use Advance’s audit app, which allowed Advance to collect key information such as pictures, measurements, power and access restrictions for each asset. By collecting all of this information, the result was that all of the kitchen equipment information was stored centrally, which allowed the team to easily assess and replace any of the equipment quickly, without the need for surveys which would have extended the whole replacement process.

Off the back of the information collected, Advance has now built up a strong knowledge of the Hollywood Bowl estate, and our findings are now heavily influencing the equipment that is being purchased. Historically, the cheapest equipment was normally purchased, but now because the life-time value of the asset can be seen, the emphasis is on supplying reliable kitchen equipment.

Over the first 12 months of this service and maintenance contract, some of the key achievements with Hollywood Bowl are:

• 7 kitchen refurbishments completed.
• 2 new build sites completed.
• Development of a pizza concept that is now in 4 sites.
• Daily Report, each day, updating on service and maintenance calls.
• Satellite stock of equipment ready for emergencies.
• Full history of the asset on every quote.
