BUPA, Pebble Mill, is a luxurious care home that provides tailored support and reassurance in beautiful state-of-the-art surroundings. The BUPA team provide different types of care, tailored to suit individual short-term and long-term needs.
Challenge
When designing a care home kitchen, Advance understands the intricate challenges that such a project provides, i.e of how the BUPA kitchen needs to work both from an operational efficiency point of view, whilst ensuring that there is full on-site compliance.
Solution
Working on behalf of long-term client, BUPA, Advance designed, supplied and installed the catering facilities at this new care home. The Advance project team worked closely with BUPA to devise a layout that reduced cross-contamination, by ensuring that the kitchen staff did not cross each others path. This extensive care home installation included a well thought out goods-in delivery process, designated preparation areas, quality ware washing and sanitation facilities, and servery space for loading and moving the large numbers of mobile trollies.
Advance also provided the full extraction system to the then DW172 regulations, to ensure complete compliance within the care home environment. This housed the latest in horizontal cooking technologies from the likes of Falcon F900, and combi oven Rational Self Cooking Centre to cater for the 60 residents.
