Serata Hall is Advance’s fourth project with the Albion & East Group (aka the team that brought you Brixton’s Canova Hall and Martello Hall in Hackney), this City spot is a jack of all trades. Located on the busy Old Street roundabout, this sprawling venue features huge glass windows, an open kitchen and an eye-catching staircase which leads to more seating upstairs. Serata Hall have created a popular all-day dining, bar and event space.

Challenge

The Serata Hall kitchen and bar project provided the Advance team with two key challenges. The first was that of drainage, which was limited across the site. As a result, the floor levels had to be raised and dropped, with the catering design coordinated accordingly. This led to some innovative approaches to the design, which ultimately enhanced the atmosphere and customer experience within the site. The second challenge was that of maximising bar refrigeration, which is always a tricky concept with a peninsular bar. This challenge was overcome with bespoke low level and passthrough bottle coolers, which encouraged “one-step bar-tendering”.

Solution

The Advance project team has created with Serata Hall an all-day dining destination that can take you from morning coffee to evening cocktails and pizzas. The impressive peninsular shaped fabricated bar designed and installed by Advance, is home to the biggest selection of tap wine outside of the United States, and operationally has been designed to maximise customer experience, and sales, at peak time.

The menu is centred around delicious pizzas from a coal oven and Angelo Po cookline churning out on-site made exceptional pastas, daily. This project also created with Serata Hall with its first onsite bakery, with deck oven, prover, planetary mixer, rolling out space and retail area.
